"Into This Space, Life will come" This idea was fundamental to the process of documenting life in Garopaba during the 2012 Carnaval season. Using a simple Canon Rebel, the photographic stance was similar to that of Cartier-Bresson's ideal of capturing the moment: but unlike the photographic instance, video allows one to now place the camera like an indifferent stalker, and let life flow in and out of the camera, flirting and teasing the photographic moment into cinematic time. Such long takes within a still photographic image make the instantaeous apogee, the orgasmic burst, both immanent and transcendent: about to happen, or having gone beyond happening.
